You are invited to A Night on Broadway and Classical Favorites, a free benefit concert hosted by Union Presbyterian Church, supporting Maui Fire Victims.
This will be a night of vocal classicals and Broadway favorites including selectionsfrom My Fair Lady, Oklahoma, and Phantom of the Opera featuring Michael Taylor, baritone; Liz Russ, soprano; and Jamie Mulfinger, piano.
Michael Taylor, a local Presbyterian Choral Music Director, performed as a principal soloist with the San Francisco Opera Center, Opera San Jose, Sacramento Opera, West Bay Opera and in concert with the San Francisco Symphony, Masterworks Choral, Berkeley Symphony, and as a vocal soloist with the San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose Ballet. As a composer and arranger, Michael has written a fully staged opera, a symphony Suite and many works and arrangements for voice and instruments. Along with his work in voice and composition, he is also an active voice teacher, conductor and stage director.
Liz Russ is a graduate from Oberlin Conservatory and holds a master’s from Boston University. She has also performed many roles on the opera stage with Opera San Jose and many other stages around the country including Boston Opera and Island City Opera and many music festivals. She delights audiences with her theatrical and vocal finesse and coloratura. We are bringing some of the finest voices together for a good time and we hope you will save the date for this night out on Broadway and classical favorites!
